A wonderful sense of history shows in the grand scale of this Edwardian home, thought to have been originally built for the managers of the former Co-op factory which once upon a time sat opposite. Whilst your initial impression may concentrate on the rather sad appearance some of the rooms present, the ageless grandeur and the unspoilt character features still peek through. Having been extended over the years, the ground floor presents a wealth of space with exciting propositions of versatility and limitless aesthetic opportunities. From the imposing entrance hall to the once formal reception room, the added garden room offers a wealth of additional space which leads straight through to the generously sized kitchen/dining room. Small historical leaks which have since been repaired have caused some damage to the ceilings, and wallpaper peels from beneath the elegant windows but if you’re aesthetically minded this historical home is the most exciting canvas to restore and revive to a new modern glory. The beautiful landing offers another grand and well proportioned space which you only tend to find in these older homes and leads you to all five bedrooms on the first floor. Whilst there is a ground floor bath and shower room, bedroom five does offer a sensible option to remodel into a first floor bath suite.

Designed with exacting proportions to the house, the rear garden ticks the box for those looking for established outside space. With so much to explore, the garden feels like the next adventure after being inside. A variety of sheds and greenhouses can be found in addition to an enormous covered fish pond which we would almost liken to a swimming pool complete with viewing veranda. Parts of the garden are still quite overgrown so there is likely even more space to be found with a strimmer!
The gated frontage and tired façade of this home is quite striking from the front with plenty of character still there to love and rejuvenate. The driveway here allows parking off the road for two vehicles.

Franks Thoughts...

Wow, what an exciting project…!!! What you often don’t see from any listing is how a house ‘feels’ once you’re inside, but it's perhaps one of the most telling features to help you decide when you’ve found ‘the one’. From the moment we stepped inside, the overwhelming feeling of family and happy memories that have been seen within these four walls was incredibly apparent. It’s just old and tired and in need of a modern rejuvenation to bring it not just back to life, but to the start of an exciting new chapter. Yes it needs some work, but if a renovation is what you’re looking for, it doesn’t get more exciting than this!
