Once two cottages, this charming home has been carefully stitched together to create a welcoming and warm space. The recent extensions to both the north and south sides have really opened up not just the footprint but created a versatile living arrangement with functionality at the forefront of the design. Exposed brick and historical open fireplaces allow a glimpse into the past with texture and character, whilst the modern vaulted sitting room allows the enviable views over the large gardens to pour straight inside.
Lead round via the side gate, the stable door leads you into the utility room, an essential space given the rural location and also a great size with plenty of space for all your white goods and extra storage. The kitchen has a heart of the home warmth, with a rustic touch from the handmade blond wood cabinetry finished with chunky rope handles, one of our favourite little features of this home. The living space across the ground floor is so versatile with three large rooms to spread out in, the dining room leads firstly straight from the kitchen which then opens through to the family room, a cosy room where the old open fireplace makes for the perfect focal point in the colder months. Further down the hallway, past the ground floor shower which has been styled into a large walk-in wet room, the sitting room is another recent addition where double doors open out straight to the large garden beyond, an ideal vantage point to enjoy the best of indoor-outdoor living.
Upstairs, the current owners haven’t done much so its leaves a fantastic blank canvas for you to decorate to your own taste and style. All three double bedrooms lead from the huge landing where a large walk-in cupboard lends itself for conversion to a first floor bathroom.

Set back beyond a layby just off the main road, the driveway allows parking for two vehicles but the layby itself also offers lots of additional parking. The large garden portion lays mainly to the south aspect on the side of the house just off from the sitting room, here you will find secure gardens edged in hedgerow. A timber work-shop sits towards the end of the garden and a greenhouse for the budding gardeners can also be found. Access can be made entirely round the cottage by the pathway at the back which leads to the north side of the garden which is full of mature shrubs and hedgerow.

Franks Thoughts...

What a charming cottage, with so much more potential to take over from the current owners. The extended areas have really opened up the layout downstairs but there’s still so much more potential to be found upstairs. The location is great for easy access too, straight onto the A12 to all the neighbouring towns, villages and coastline which is only short journey away.
